Russian inflation and aging population

Russia is currently facing two major challenges: high inflation and an aging population. Inflation in Russia has been on the rise in recent years, reaching double digits in some periods. This has led to a decrease in purchasing power for Russian citizens, making it harder for them to afford basic necessities.

At the same time, Russia’s population is aging rapidly. The country has one of the highest proportions of elderly people in the world, with a decreasing birth rate and increasing life expectancy. This demographic shift poses significant challenges for the Russian government, as it will need to provide for a growing number of retirees while also stimulating economic growth.
